LG Employers | Video Podcast Series

Brief

Employment law changes frequently and it’s a challenge for employers to keep on top of the latest developments. Local Government Employers Employment Relations Unit produce a monthly advisory bulletin (delivered in paper/PDF format), designed to keep employers up to speed on any changes. Although this is well read, the content can be a little dry and rather technical. We felt a more accessible way to access this information would be appreciated by busy HR professionals.

Solution

We suggested using video to help make this sometimes complex information easier to understand and access. The 10 minute videos are produced once a quarter and the format is a fairly relaxed ‘magazine’ style, presented by two of the Employment Relations Unit’s own team. This gives the videos real authority and authenticity.

We ran a media training course for the ‘presenters’ to ensure that they feel confident and come across in a relaxed and professional manner and of course we’re there to offer support and encouragement with both the planning and recording of each show.

Results

The videos have been a great success with LG Employers target audience of HR professionals, who are finding the programmes to be a very useful and easy to consume source of information. The team have also been widely complemented on how professional the shows come across.
